Sonny Schug is an aviation artist, illustrator and fine art painter working in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is committed to producing the highest quality artwork for his comercial and fine art acounts and often "blurs the line" between the two, striving to add the best of both to each other in solving the artistic needs of his clients.

Sonny has extensive experience in all aspects of aviation art, and he had a love of aircraft and aviation from an early age. In this area, he has illustrated children's books, magazine articles, and boxtops of plastic model aircraft as well as many large commissions from a variety of sources. His great versatility allows him to move freely among projects involving product and figure illustration, military and automotive illustration, architectual rendering, cartoons and comic strips, packaging and storyboard illustration.

As a fine arts painter, Sonny's bold and colorful representational style translates well into oil and watercolor painting, with landscapes being a longtime favorite subject. His works are in many private collections and he is the recipient of numerous awards for artistic excellence.

He graduated from the University of Toledo with a BFA degree and studied at the School of Fine Arts, Washington University, St. Louis. After several years of maintaining an art studio in Toledo, Ohio, he and his family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where he is now living and working in his new location, Studio West.
